GOD WITH US
The Prophet Isaiah proclaims: “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of gloom a light has shone. You have brought them abundant joy and great rejoicing… they name him Wonder-Counselor, God-Hero,
Father-Forever, Prince of Peace."
As a family of believers, we enter into the wonder and awe of the Christmas Season. We rejoice in the birth of the Christ Child. In this encounter, we come to know God is with us!
The wonder and awe of Christmas are experienced in the seemly impossible made possible through the love of God.
During the Advent Journey, we readied and prepared ourselves for the coming of the Savior. We sought to open ourselves to the Joy and Generosity of God.
On our Advent Journey to Bethlehem, we sought to surrender ourselves, as Mary did, to the will of God and his plan of salvation. We sought to open ourselves to the understanding of Joseph that we each have a part to play in God’s plan. We journeyed
together in the optimism of the Wise Men; believing the Christ Child would arrive. Amid that perplexity, and like that of the Shepherds, we trust in the promises of God and come to experience the wonder and awe of Christmas; for we who walked in darkness have seen a great light!
On behalf of Fr. Mack and me, we wish you a blessed Christmas and Christmas Season filled with the glory and wonder of the experience of the Birth of the Christ Child.
It is with a grateful heart that I thank you for the blessing you are to me on this great faith journey, and for helping me to enter further into the mystery of "God With Us!"
