Altar Servers

The ministry of the altar server is a very important one, for both the server and the parent. Being an altar server gives your son or daughter responsibilities they won’t get anywhere else. Servers are responsible for allowing the priest to “pray” the Mass, his main purpose. The altar server is at the priest’s side every step of the way during the course of the liturgy. Servers learn how to be attentive, show leadership, focus and bring reverence to the Mass.

If you want your son or daughter to develop skills they won’t learn anywhere else,
give them the gift of serving God as an altar server.

Students, grade 4 and older, are welcome to be trained. We also welcome adults, parents, and children, even grandparents and grandchildren.  We love to have families serve together. Once trained, they will be scheduled at weekend Masses. They also may serve at weekday Masses, weddings, Stations of the Cross, and other liturgies.

We understand that it is a commitment, but we hope you will support this ministry by allowing your child to serve. Some of our servers have gone on to serve at the Cathedral with the bishop because they feel called to even greater service beyond our parish. God works in wonderful ways. We hope your son or daughter will take part in this beautiful ministry. Contact Rob Buzaitis, Worship Director, at 920-766-1445, ext. 109, or rbuzaitis@kaucp.org if you or your son or daughter, grade 4 or older, are interested in being trained.

Training can take place at any time.
