Seeing things differently. - 1.30.2022

Do you remember the 1998 book “Who Moved My Cheese”? It is an interesting parable about how we deal with
change. Most people like routine and predictability. But sometimes, we may get into a habit of only seeing things in
a particular way.

Take, for example, the second reading for this Sunday. It is a popular reading about love. But is the reading from Corinthians only for
weddings? The answer is most definitely no! St. Paul was teaching us about the values that a Christian must have. Would it not make sense to use that beautiful poem to love at a funeral or some other occasion or to use it in a daily examination of conscience?

One theme for this Sunday’s readings is about being specially chosen and formed by God for a special purpose and mission in life. Ultimately that is to love God and our neighbor. Once again, our parish prayer invites us to do this.

Loving God and Father - You sent your Spirit to
us to help us on our Way. Give us the grace as
people of Kaukauna Catholic Parishes; to
discover the life of Jesus, and to live and share
this Joy with others- so that your will may be done
on earth as it is in heaven. Through Jesus Christ
our Lord forever and ever. Amen.

Blessings,
Fr. Mack
