Faith, it is said, is the ability to believe even when reason tells us not to. You see, I could never prove the existence of God, let alone the Trinity, to someone who refuses to believe. Yes, I could point out how God works and how we come to know and experience God’s presence in our lives, but some would simply write off these experiences as fate, or some sort of natural evolution or a lucky chance
happening. Faith is the ability to take a leap and come to believe in a being that has a grand and loving plan for us. 

Over the last three and a half years I have been privileged to be a part of three communities of believers that have incredible faith. Together we have done some wonderful things as the Body of Christ as our part of building the Kingdom of God. Some of the things we have tried have not worked as well as we might have liked, some have been good, others have been great.  What matters is the fact that we continue to do what we can to be instruments of God’s grace and bring alive in the here and now the Kingdom of God. 

We seek in our journey, to develop a strong, bold, courageous life of faith and this is only possible if we have a powerful and intimate relationship with God.  As part of our journey, I am challenging each of us, myself included, to be more courageous and bold about whom we are as people of faith and who we can be together as the Body of Christ. 

What we will seek to do is to be BOLD and COURAGEOUS enough to seek greatness. We will challenge ourselves to really do what we CAN to make the kingdom of God present to all those we meet. We will be bold and courageous enough to say this is what we want to do, this is what we expect of ourselves and this is what we will do to make it happen!

The greatness we seek is the Kingdom of God – right here and right now!

I have seen the greatness of God in the dedicated and loving endeavors of the communities of Holy Cross and St. Katharine Drexel. The greatness I have experienced in your holiness is amazing to behold.  This call is a challenge to each of us to reach deep within and be BOLD and COURAGEOUS in our faith.  To say “I can and I will do my part as the Body of Christ in Making it Happen - to Build the Kingdom of God together!”
